Know Your Characters with Beautiful People

Get to Know Your Characters with Beautiful People by and

Beautiful People is a writing blog meme that is hosted by Cait at Paperfury and Sky at FurtherUpFurtherIn! Each month they post questions for writers to answer about your characters, or in this case, yourself!

What are they addicted to/can’t live without?
Her stuffed animals.

Name 3 positive and 3 negative qualities about your character.
Positive: Intelligent, self-reliant, understanding. Negative: Distrustful, asocial, flight risk.

Are they holding onto something they should get rid of?
Childhood betrayal.

If 10 is completely organized and 1 is completely messy, where do they fall on the scale?

What most frustrates them about the world they live in?
How annoying and incompetent some people are.

How would they dress for a night out? How would they dress for a night in?
She avoids going out, but with Oliver around, Kara gets dragged around a bit. The only time Kara dressed up, and it wasn’t a costume, was a knee-length lacey black dress. For a night in, a graphic tee and cargo pants.

How many shoes do they own, and what kind?
Sneakers, winter boots and a pair of heels she would avoid using, so three.

Do they have any pets? What pet do they WISH they had?
Nope, and she doesn’t want any. She’s afraid of dogs, and any animal that could roam around while you’re gone is a no-no, which would leave only caged animals.

Is there something or someone that they resent? Why and what happened?
An old friend that betrayed her in multiple ways. There’s also Steve and Elise who kidnapped her, tied her up and…

What’s usually in their fridge or pantry?
The fridge is always stocked full of veggies (most of which she won’t eat), dairy products and frozen chicken strips.

Hope you enjoyed learning more about Kara. Did you do beautiful people this month? Head over to check out more Beautiful People answers.

  1. Sheesh, Steve and Elise sound like such decent humans. (Please note the sarcasm.)

Great post! You have some good answers here. Kara sounds like a real person with real hurt in her life. I love stuffed animals too.

I did do Beautiful People this month! It was my second time participating, and my first time answering character questions. (Last time I did the author edition.) It was fun. I love developing characters, though sometimes it can be kind of hard.

    1. Thanks! I’ll be sure to check yours out too.

While the questions can be hard to answer, it’s awesome to be able to learn more about your characters.
